Job Title: HR Manager, AAI Data Management, Compensation & Benefits, Talent Management
Function: Human Resources
University: University of Philippines - Diliman (1999)
Degree: BS Business Economics

I first joined P&G as an intern in Human Resources during the summer of 1998. As early as then, I was already very impressed with the company because of the kind of real-life projects P&G gave even to their interns. Within my two months internship with the company, I worked on creating a computer-based on-boarding program for new hires and I developed a recruiting brochure that would be used by the company for their campus recruiting activities. Imagine how thrilled I was when I went back to university to start of my last year in school and saw that the brochures I created were being passed around on campus!

In 1999, shortly after graduation, I formally joined P&G Philippines as the Recruiting Manager. At first, I was overwhelmed with the amount of responsibility given to me. After all, I don’t know of any other multinational million-dollar company in the country who would hire a 20 year old fresh graduate to lead the recruiting efforts for a world-class company. But what I once thought would be a difficult assignment turned out to be one of the best and most exciting assignments I had in my career! It allowed me to meet a lot of people across functions and levels in the company. I also got to go back to campus very often and connect with former schoolmates and university officials. It’s also an amazing feeling to know and see that those who were hired during the time that I was leading recruiting are now doing very well in the company and taking on key leadership positions.

In 2001, I moved on to become the Training & Development Manager for P&G Philippines. On top of my corporate training responsibility, I also took on the additional responsibility of becoming the Human Resource Manager for our Marketing group. It was a great experience since I was able to learn about the business in-depth. In this role, I was also given the opportunity to travel across the country to immerse myself in the various marketing initiatives being done by the company. I got to lead projects to improve the capability of our market operations organization in the country.

In 2003, I was transferred to Singapore to become the Training & Development Manager for our Singapore Headquarters and to become the Human Resource Manager for our AAI (ASEAN, Australasia and India) Finance & Accounting Group and Consumer & Market Knowledge Group. I was very excited to move to this new assignment since it was a regional role and since it was my first time living abroad and learning to become independent. It was also a fantastic experience to be working with different cultures in a foreign country.

In 2005, I moved on to become the Human Resources Manager for AAI (ASEAN, Australasia and India) Data Management, Compensation & Benefits and Talent Management. I am learning a lot in this new role of mine and I am enjoying every single bit of it!

As you can see, I have been through a number of wonderful assignments in the past 6 years that I have been in the company and I am surely looking forward to taking on new and exciting assignments in the future as I further grow my career in the company which I fondly call as my second family J.

What I like most about P&G:

What I like most about P&G is its Principles, Values and Purpose which are very much in line with my own personal values. Each and everyone in the company live and breathe these values. The other thing that I like most about P&G is the people! You get to work with the best and the brightest people in the industry. On a personal side, I met some of my best and lifelong friends in this company.

What I think could be better at P&G:
Perhaps employees should get a life long supply of P&G products!!!
