I completed a Bachelor of Applied Science and spent several years building up experience working in microbiology laboratories. Joining P&G represented a welcome shift in career focus from ‘hands on’ in the lab to a more challenging regulatory role. I was hired in October 1999 as a Research Associate in the Professional & Regulatory Services area. Now works as a Senior Associate in External Relations. The most amazing thing about my job at P&G is the incredible range of experiences I have been exposed to. It means I have learnt an enormous amount in my two and a half years. I currently work on a huge variety of brands including Dawn, Pantene and Metamucil. I do everything from artwork and advertising approvals to submissions to various Government bodies – I have even participated in in-home consumer research! I find dealing with the Government very interesting because many regulations are complex and fluid - I am always kept on my toes. The most notable experiences with the Government have been petitioning to change regulations such as the scheduling (in the case of a Febreze ingredient) and the Advertising Code (in the case of anti-dandruff products). The one thing common to all my work is the opportunity it creates to collaborate with the exceptional community of P&G people around the globe.
