I came to Procter & Gamble from a different background - I have been working in the Media area for years, but always in front of the cameras-- as a show-host and an actor in television and in campaigns. I always wondered what it would be like working on the other side of the camera, the business side, the one that determines the marketing moves. In Procter & Gamble I had the chance to see and understand how things operate. I started to work as an Assistant Brand Manager on Beauty & Hair Care- Pantene & Head & Shoulders. In my work I discovered that the marketing area is wide and complex, and I learn new things every day that no university could ever teach me. During my academic studies I worked on projects and case studies, but when working in Procter & Gamble things are real, and each decision, even the smallest one, has an influence on the brand, the consumers, the company and my team. From the start, I was responsible for leading actions: to plan them, test their profitability, carry them on, follow-up on them, and draw the conclusions that would impact our next marketing steps. As a creative person, who has worked in a creative field, I was afraid that I wouldn’t have the opportunity to utilize this strength at P&G, but I found out that in the marketing field, creativity is endless and Procter & Gamble encourages this attribute. At Procter & Gamble we work with a lot of partners. In order to make sure that the initiatives and ideas will happen, you need to make sure that all the partners work together as a team, and I am the Captain of this team. As such, there is a need for sensitivity and for leadership, without which, we could not reach our goals.
