Ali Pervez - PAKISTAN - Unit Manager Karachi

Ali Pervez

Job Title: Unit Manager Karachi
Function: Sales/Customer Business Development
Department: Customer Business Development
University: Institute of Business Administration, Karachi
Degree: Master of Business Administration

Ali did his Honors and Masters in business administration from IBA and joined P&G's Customer Business Development department in 1998. And then we regroup every evening and see what we have achieved, and then tomorrow is another day… the battle goes on. I have had my own share of battles in the last four years or so. During the initial training days, I was at the front-line. Going from shop to shop and selling the brands. It was tough. But it was fun. Then I was on the road. I went to the farthest corners of the country. To the towns and villages which previously were just dots on a map for me. I persuaded my business partners sitting in these towns and villages to invest in my company's products and told them how it would benefit them. They invested, and benefited, and I moved on. I came back from the front-line for a while, to be a part of making the ammunition which I was using myself previously. I worked in Customer Marketing Organization for one year. CMO is a department within CBD that is responsible for making the plans and tools for the sales force. Now I have 50 young men who go to the front-lines everyday. And I am so glad that I have seen it all…"
