Fareeseh Chaudhry - PAKISTAN - Senior HR Manager

Fareeseh Chaudhry

Job Title: Senior HR Manager
Function: Human Resources
Department: Human Resources
University: Lahore University of Management Sciences
Degree: Master of Business Administration

Fareeseh Chaudhry joined Procter & Gamble in July 2000 after graduating from the Lahore University of Management Sciences with a Masters in Business Administration. Even though her major at University was Finance, she decided on HR as a career well before the end of her first year at business school. To gain first hand experience of her chosen function she applied for the HR internship at P&G and spent 10 weeks with the Company in 1999. "The amount of responsibility I was given as an intern was phenomenal. My work was "real", made up of projects linked to P&G's human resource needs and I also had the chance to see my recommendations come into effect before I left. This is an opportunity only a few gain and it changed my life! Based on the successful internship, I was offered the position of Associate Manager - Human Resources after I graduated and I had no doubt in my mind that P&G was where I wanted to work. My initial scope of responsibilities included Recruitment, Managing transfers in and out of the country and Compensation Management. From day one I have had full autonomy is my work as well as regular On-The-Job coaching that's P&G's trade mark. The most amazing fact about P&G is the responsibility and trust they place in their new hires. They give you one chance to learn relevant skills, another to practice them for yourself and by the third time you're an expert and a teacher yourself! Now tell me another place that provides that kind of experience & exposure?! My most rewarding experience to date has been recruiting for P&G's Summer Internship Program 2001. Interacting with all those students, being the public front of the Company and finding candidates with the right mix of skills needed to succeed at P&G was the challenge that faced me and success was even sweeter by knowing that one day these students will graduate and become part of the P&G team and lead the business to greater successes. Many of those interns are now part of the P&G family and its great to see people I had a hand in hiring doing so well. Today my responsibilities have changed and I’m now part of the regional HR team looking after Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East Africa. As Regional Recruiting Leader I look forward to influencing the P&G brand across the different countries and making sure that we hire the “best of the best” not only in Pakistan but also across geographies.”

What I like most about P&G:

What I love about P&G is that it gets under your skin. And not only that; it stays there! If you ask me, what makes P&G a force to reckon with in the market place are its people – and what all the people here have in common is that they love what they do. Everyday of every week they come to work in love.
