Background:

Although my degree is in aerospace engineering, I've always been fascinated by working with consumer products. It's great to be able to see something in stores that you've worked on! After college, I interviewed with NASA, defense contractors, and oil companies, as well as with consumer products companies. I had more than a dozen job offers, but P&G represented the best choice for me. The various work opportunities, the diversity of career paths, and the chance to travel and work around the world were all big selling points for me. During my 30 years with P&G, I have been able to live and work in several US states, as well as overseas in Belgium and Germany.

History:

  • I have divided my P&G career between engineering work, which is mostly technical, and project management work, which involves managing production lines, production departments, operations and Research and Development. So I have a very diverse history of work within P&G.
  • Among other things, I designed the first Luvs Disposable Diaper shape and most of the Pampers upgrades.  I have numerous patents in the Pampers and Luvs products. I've also worked with the Charmin and Bounty brands.
  • In addition, I work on Oil of Olay and other beauty care products, which is a very different technology from the paper and diaper products.
  • My current title is Technical Director Beauty Care Product Supply. I work on bringing new ideas to existing products and innovations to bring new products to the market.
