Do you want to learn more about P&G? Click on a number and find out what P&G people have to say
Why is P&G a great career choice for your immediate and long term career? What does P&G offer for your professional and personal development? What are P&G people and the environment like? (Mentors and training, etc) How does P&G's Asian Pacific (APA) Career Network help your career? Since many careers are based in Cincinnati, P&G's corporate headquarters. What is it like? Does P&G help spouses find a job also?

Vivienne Bechtold:
The APA network is very important and valuable to new hires, as well as those who have been with P&G for a long time. There is not a natural APA community brotherhood or sisterhood as there is an African American community for example. Instead we are Chinese or Indian, Japanese or Polynesian, etc. Since we are culturally more focused as individual contributors rather than group focused, many new hires think they can do it all on their own. The key thing is not to be too isolated. Reach out to the network and ask for advice, ask for mentors, use the people who are in place to help.

Sanford Tom:
Each function at P&G gets a list of people that are APA and we send an email to them to establish contact. We also do that for interns too. We try to meet personally to put names with faces. We deploy a cultural traits presentation so that they understand or are aware of some of the things we’ve learned and maybe any necessary style switches where you need to. We have a conference every year where we focus on things to improve on and build on, new networks and just create awareness. Last year the content was on building positive image, cultural traits and learning and understanding how compensation and ratings work.
