Meet some of your peers and see what they have to say about working at P&G.

Being hired by P&G as an intern in the summer of ’01 was an unbelievable honor for me. From the very first day, everybody took great strides to make sure I made the transition to P&G as smoothly as I could and preparations were made beforehand to ensure that I received the proper equipment, interpreters, and support to ensure that full facilitation of communications was achieved. P&G also treated me as if I was a full-time employee of the company by assigning projects and placing me on various departmental teams to help achieve the company’s goals. Right now, I’m a full-time employee in the Corporate Functions department as an Infrastructure developer and I hold a sense of great honor to be part of P&G’s vision.

From 1992 to 1999 I worked for P&G in Germany, Sweden and Belgium. In October of 1999, I had a bicycle accident in Belgium which caused multiple injuries, the worst of which is that it left me a T5 paraplegic. Although P&G was not responsible for my rehabilitation, the P&G Medical Director in Europe searched the globe to help me find the best place for me to rehabilitate from my spinal cord injury. All along the way, my managers at P&G assured me there would be a job for me once I was ready to come back to work. At the office, in both Belgium and Cincinnati, P&G’s Workplace Services people have gone out of their way to meet my special needs.

Research & Development
I am a senior scientist in Procter & Gamble's Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs division. I was hired by P&G as a PhD toxicologist thirteen years ago. I spent my first ten years at P&G providing product safety support for the Paper Products Division (now the Baby, Feminine, and Family Care Business Unit) for our tissue, towel and diaper products. These past three years I have been involved in providing safety and regulatory support for P&G's New Business Ventures, which has been a great challenge as well as a fantastic new learning experience for me.
I came to work for P&G, primarily because I considered Procter & Gamble to be a company of high ethical standards. P&G has provided me with an exciting and challenging work environment with plenty of opportunities to learn new skills. The company and my management have always done whatever was necessary and right to provide the appropriate accommodations in order for me to be able to perform my job. P&G is committed to a diverse work environment and hiring people with disabilities, because it is important to its long-term success, but also because it helps people with disabilities to grow meaningful and successful careers. I would strongly encourage anybody with a disability to become familiar with P&G as a company, to learn what career opportunities are available at P&G, and not to hesitate to apply for a job if they believe they have the qualifications and the drive to perform that job. At P&G you determine your destiny!

I came to the Procter & Gamble in 1998 after graduating from Miami University. I joined the IT department that supports our consumer researchers as a Systems Analyst and was excited to find that I could work closely with not only IT professionals, but also market and product researchers. This has given me the opportunity to impact not only IT projects, but the P&G business as a whole. From the beginning, my management was supportive in providing necessary hardware and software that I use to perform my daily work. Thus, my vision impairment has never been a barrier to a successful career.
