Job Title: Section Head
Function: Research & Development
Department: Fabric Enhancers
University: MIT
Major: Course 10
Degree: ScB.
Contact:

I joined P&G in 1987 following graduation from MIT in 1985 with a Degree in Chemical Engineering and in 1987 from University of Penn with a degree in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering.

My initial function was Product Development. I worked on an upstream process development where I was responsible for designing the process to make a new product. I got to build my own pilot plant during that project and travelled to manufacturing facilities across the country to confirm that the process I developed was scalable. Following my initial assignment, I transferred to Products Research, where I was responsible for defining consumer needs and formulating a product to meet those needs. My first assignment in that area, was on Cheer detergent. As part of that work, I worked closely with the Brand to extend our equity on cold water cleaning to include Color protection. Cheer with ColorGuard was born.

I've continued to work in Products Research for the remainder of my career. I've advanced along the Managerial track with increasing responsibility with each new project assignment. I've work in Laundry (Tide, Cheer, Bold, Gain, etc), Dish ( Dawn, Joy and Ivory), New Business Development (on new brands that will make life better for our consumers) and now in Fabric Enhancers (Downy).

What I like most about P&G:
I really enjoy working at Procter and Gamble. My work is very rewarding in that it permits me to improve the lives of consumers worldwide. I really enjoy being able to walk in to grocery stores worldwide and find products that I have worked to design.
